5 Dating Tips When Dating A Shy Guy

October 11, 2018Single Lifeadmin

First things first, you have to realise we live in a different world these days. It is not uncommon for a woman to approach a man. There are many shy guys out there who just can’t pluck up the courage to make the first move. Don’t write these shy guys off immediately, once they are comfortable around you they will soon begin to prosper in their engagement and communication. Don’t despair; we have compiled a list of dating tips to help you. Follow these basic guidelines:

#1 Do not take his shyness personally

This is important to remember, just because he is not very chatty or flirty does not mean he is not into you. You need to understand why he is shy and find another angle to engage with him. Yes he could be awkward in social situations and it can be difficult to read him, but it is important to not take it personally.

#2 Communicate via Messaging

We live in a world where telephonic conversations are becoming less relevant in the dating scene. Especially when attempting to date a shy guy it is better to communicate via Whatsapp, Facebook, and Twitter etc. This allows the guy some time to respond and he doesn’t feel the same pressures as a face to face or a telephonic conversation. With social media you can also find out for yourself about his interests and passions. It’s a win-win.

#3 Talk about YOU

Don’t be shy to talk about yourself and share some ‘secrets’ that will make him feel at ease with you. When you open up and engage it sends the message that you trust and feel comfortable in his presence.  This will encourage him to open up as well because you have build up a rapport with a good degree of trust.

#4 Positive Affirmation

When he talks, listen attentively and look into his eyes. He must feel that what he is saying is of value to you; this will help him feel comfortable with you. Be positive with your feedback and don’t be shy to encourage him when he talks about his goals and passions.

#5 Figure out His Comfort Zone

When on the date ask him questions that allow him to talk freely and openly. Start with topics such as family, hobbies and passions. Tread lightly as you want it to be a conversation and not come across as an interrogation. After a few dates or conversations you should have a clear idea of what his comfort zone is. You know what topics and interests he feels comfortable talking about and what environment he likes being in whilst on the date.

You never know what awaits your dating life if you are willing to give a shy guy a chance. Good men can sometimes be hidden behind their shy masks so remember these dating tips and bring that shy guy out of his shell.
